Paddlers Committment

By joining the Wicked Paddlers Club, you are entering into a relationship. Like any relationship, each side must respect the requirements of the other. Joining the team will require your commitment of time, money and effort. The team, in turn, will help you to develop as a paddler and participate in a unique and rewarding sport. Neither side can succeed without the other.

This section describes some specific requirements that the team places on you. Please read them carefully and decide whether you can fulfill them.

Participation

I will attend scheduled practices. I understand that my placement in races is greatly affected by my dedication to the practice schedule.

I will contact my caller by phone if I am late or unable to attend any practice. I understand that my teammates depend on me to attend when I say I will attend.

I will respond to team emails in a timely manner. I will not use reply-all carelessly.

I will attend all mandatory team meetings. If I cannot attend, it is my responsibility to contact my caller, captain, or member-at-large to find out what was missed.

I have consulted my physician and been determined fit to participate in this sport. I understand that paddling is a strenuous activity and I will listen to my body to decrease the risk of injury.

Sportsmanship

I will always be respectful of my teammates, other teams, volunteers, team guests, coaches, callers, race officials, etc.

I will support my team both on and off the water.

I will be respectful of all borrowed equipment (paddles, PFDs, boats, etc.) and take care of them as if they were my own.

I understand that I paddle to have fun!

Finances

I will pay dues and fees on or before the due date. If I am unable to make a payment, I will contact the team Treasurer and make payment arrangements.

I understand that failure to pay or make payment arrangements may result in my expulsion from the team.
